The Scrambler takes its inspiration from these custom bikes. Overview In the 1960s, far from civilisation and regular roads, stripped down desert bikes based on Triumph twins and fitted with high level exhausts, dirt bike tyres and suspension were being used for hard recreational fun and competition on tough terrain. We built the Scrambler to evoke that spirit of freedom and escape, carefree times when all you needed was a bike and somewhere to ride.

Motor sorted by Meatball at HellOneWheels, but is very original. Running largest front sprocket possible so cruises on freeway, effortless to ride. Motor: - The Thunderbird is 650 twin motor, single original Amal carb, RAM Cam, narrow headers so makes tons of torque. Original in all the right places, restored where it makes sense. I have owned her for almost 10 years, previous owner had her for 20+ years. It's the Cali Thunderbird because JM threw all of the 'bathtub' and extra weather protection off the bikes and sold them 'naked' in CA. 1964 Triumph Thunderbird, 1963 model, sold by Johnson Motors in '64.
